The Air France-KLM Flying Blue award program published the latest Promo Awards for April 2024. While there are several interesting destinations, the most exciting development is the inclusion of a long-haul Business Class Promo Award to North America.

What Are Flying Blue Promo Awards

Flying Blue Promo Awards occur every month and offer a 25-50% discount on select award routes operated by Air France and KLM. The in-scope routes and discounts are published on the first business day each month. However, the awards often only go live the day after. While the discounts primarily focus on Economy Class, there are occasional discounts for Premium Economy and Business Class as well. The destinations and routes change every month.

Here are the booking guidelines for April 2024:

  • Valid for bookings made between April 1st, 2024 and April 30th, 2024.
  • Valid on flights operating between April 1st, 2024 and September 30th, 2024.
  • Discount only applies to the Saver Award rate.
  • 25% discount for children ages 2-11 is in addition to the Promo Awards.

Final Thoughts

While the April 2024 Flying Blue Promo Awards include some interesting Economy Class options, with multiple cities in the United States and Canada, the biggest news is the inclusion of a long-haul Business Class route to North America. Unfortunately, this route still utilizes one of the oldest KLM Business Class hard products in a 2-2-2 configuration. In addition, there is a rare 50% discount on Premium Economy between Paris and Quebec and some great options between Europe and Asia and Latin America. Hopefully in the May 2024 Flying Blue Promo Awards, the program will include the new Phoenix (PHX) to Paris (CDG) route; similar to when the Raleigh-Durham to Paris route launched in 2023.

Note: FlyingBlue often has “unadvertised” Promo Award flights, especially for Business Class. Check back periodically for updates.
