With this addition, Emirates will operate three “5th Freedom Routes” from the United States, with Miami to Bogota (MIA – BOG) joining New York to Milan (JFK – MXP) and New York to Athens (EWR – ATH).

Emirates will operate its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on this route in a three class configuration: 8 First Class Suites, 42 Business Class seats, and 304 Economy seats. The First Class cabin features private suites, although these will not be the “Game Changer” product, while the Business Class cabin has the outdated 2-3-2 layout. Despite the lack of a Premium Economy option, Emirates Economy Class is one of the best in the sky.

Final Thoughts

As of June 2024, Emirates enters the crowded United States to Latin America market, with a focus on Colombia. With airlines such as American, LATAM, and Avianca, the national airline of Colombia, already serving this market, it will be interesting to see how Emirates fares. However, Emirates has a unique position in that both the hard and soft product of Emirates is leagues ahead of the market competition. Only time will tell if flyers are willing to pay a little extra for the luxury experience Emirates offers.
