FlyingBlue February Promo Awards Are Good Not Great

The Air France / KLM FlyingBlue award program published the latest Promo Awards for February 2024. While there are several interesting destinations, including the West Coast of the United States, there are no published long-haul Business Class Promo Awards.

What Are FlyingBlue Promo Awards

FlyingBlue Promo Awards occur every month and offer a 25% discount on select award routes operated by Air France and KLM. The in-scope routes and discounts are published on the first business day each month. However, the awards often only go live the day after. While the discounts primarily focus on Economy Class, there are often discounts for Business Class as well. The destinations and routes change every month.

Here are the booking guidelines for February 2024:

  • Valid for bookings made between February 1st, 2024 and February 29th, 2024.
  • Valid on flights operating between February 1st, 2024 and July 31st, 2024.
  • Discount only applies to the Saver Award rate.
  • 25% discount for children ages 2-11 is in addition to the Promo Awards.

FlyingBlue Promo Awards – United States And Canada

The FlyingBlue program recently moved to a “fixed” award chart for the United States and Canada with the following one-way standard Saver Rates:

  • Economy Class: 20,000 Miles
  • Premium Economy: 35,000 Miles
  • Business Class: 50,000 Miles

With that in mind, here are the Promo Awards for the United States and Canada:

  • Amsterdam (AMS) to Austin (AUS) – 15,000 Miles
  • Paris (CDG) to Los Angeles (LAX) – 15,000 Miles
  • Paris (CDG) to San Francisco (SFO) – 15,000 Miles

Business Class (25% Discount)

Final Thoughts

While the February 2024 FlyingBlue Promo Awards include some interesting options, the lack of Business Class options between the United States and Canada and Europe is disappointing. However, the ability to fly between the West Coast of the United States and Europe for as low as 15,000 points (11,250 for children ages 2 – 11) is an incredible deal. Hopefully in the March 2024 FlyingBlue Promo Awards, the program will include the new Phoenix (PHX) to Paris (CDG) route; similar to when the Raleigh-Durham to Paris route launched in 2023.

Note: FlyingBlue often has “unadvertised” Promo Award flights, especially for Business Class. Check back periodically for updates.
